Weaver: The Kervanian Chronicles Book 1

Weaver is an adventure/fantasy novel that first revolves around Kate Merin and her two brothers Michael and Albert going back in time to Kervanis, then on Kate and her Kervanian parallel, Alaya Le Faye, coming together to save the day.

To be honest, I couldn’t get into it at first. Everything was slow and mostly uneventful, and the writing style was really weird to me. It was really narrative but somehow still not descriptive enough. However, in the second part of the book things picked up and I really got into it. I really loved the whole dual POV thing with Kate and Alaya although I found it a bit weird how the POV’s weren’t exactly in sync, time wise. The plot was really good, although there were a couple inconsistencies and I got lost and had to flip back a couple times. I’m very happy that the main heroes of the story were young, smart, strong willed girls and there was no big romantic theme or love triangle. One thing I didn’t like was that the book wasn’t as mature as I would have liked and I felt as if the book would be suited for readers a little below my age. I went crazy at the end with the cliffhanger though, and I’m definitely a fan of this series now.

RATING: ★★★★☆
